Pastor Anglea:

Young Adult Bible Class

The Young Adult Bible Class, taught by Pastor Anglea, is currently studying a series of lessons from the book of Proverbs entitled “Living Life Wisely.”  The series consists of 100 lessons on how to live a wise life.  This class meets from 10AM-10:45AM on Sundays.  The class ranges in age from 25 (or younger if married) to 40.

Testimony

Pastor Terry Anglea was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in January 1957.  On October 15, 1975, at age 18, he was born again at the Calvary Baptist Church in Graysville, Tennessee.  In June 1976, he surrendered to the call of God into full-time ministry, and in September 1976, he enrolled in Hyles-Anderson College.  After graduating college, he worked as assistant pastor to Dr. Larry Brown, pastor of Marion Avenue Baptist Church in Washington, Iowa.  He served there for ten years until he was called as pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Bourbonnais, Illinois, in June 1990.

Jorge Armendariz:

Spanish Church

The Spanish Department, under the leadership of Spanish Pastor Jorge Armendariz, was started in 2003 and is currently averaging in the forties weekly.  It has grown sufficiently to even support its own missionary.  The main service is from 11:00AM-12:15PM with Sunday School immediately following.  The Sunday evening service is held at 6:30PM.  The mid-week service is held on Thursday at 7:00PM.  The Spanish church ministry focuses on the saving of souls followed by spiritual growth through the Word of God.

Testimony

Brother Jorge was saved at the age of nineteen in the Spanish Department of Landmark Baptist Church, in Haines City, Florida.  Under Pastor Elmer Fernandez, soon thereafter, he became involved as a bus worker, as a soulwinner, and as a Sunday school-teacher.  A year later he surrendered to preach and to serve God full-time.  In the fall of 1999, he attended Institute Fuegos de Evangelismo (Fires of Evangelism Institute).  During that time he was an assistant at a Spanish mission in Arcadia, Florida.  A year later he was moved to Bradenton, Florida, to be in charge of another mission.  At that time (summer of 2001), the institute moved to work under the authority of Northwest Bible Baptist Church in Elgin, Illinois, and Dr. Keith Gomez, Pastor.  Bro. Jorge and his wife Karina graduated from Fuegos de Evangelismo in May 2003.  In June 2003, they started to work with the Spanish department on the weekends here at Faith Baptist Church.  Then, in November 2003, they came to work full-time at Faith Baptist Church.  Bro. Jorge is currently the Pastor of the Spanish Department.  They have two children, Gerson Roberto and Rebeca.

Caleb Hanson:

Bus Ministry

Our bus ministry provides transportation for the residents of Bourbonnais, Bradley, Kankakee, Momence, Watseka, St. Anne, Chebanse, Sheldon, and Aroma Park.  This includes adults, teenagers, and children (ages three and above – unless accompanied by a parent).  The buses are inspected every six months and are well-maintained.  Our drivers have CDL’s and are well-equipped, safe, and friendly.  On the ride to and from church, the bus captain of each bus conducts a well-prepared program, which includes Sunday school songs, Bible memory verses, stories, and contests.

Soulwinning Outreach

Faith Baptist Church believes in fulfilling the Great Commission in our community. Therefore, we provide multiple organized soulwinning opportunities for our members throughout the week.  These opportunities are as follows: Tuesday morning (10:00AM), Tuesday afternoon (3:20PM – 4:45PM), Tuesday evening (6:30PM), Saturday morning (9:30AM), and S.W.A.T. program (Soul Winning at Alternate Times).  Our S.W.A.T. program was designed for those not able to participate in the Tuesday and Saturday soulwinning opportunities.  The soulwinner and his/her partner meet after the Sunday evening service to receive their assigned area of visitation.  As part of these opportunities, soulwinners present the Gospel door-to-door, visit new moves to the area, follow-up on visitors to the services, and contact bus riders.

Sunday School

The Sunday School hour is an exciting time of Biblical instruction for individuals of all ages.  Each class has a well-prepared, experienced, and caring teacher.  Lessons, based on a Bible principle or character, are taught at the understanding level of each age group.  The goal for this hour is to instill godly principles in the lives of boys and girls, men and women.

Testimony

As a ten-year old boy, Brother Caleb heard his pastor preach on the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.   He remembers sitting in church wondering if he would be left behind when Jesus came.  Finally, he told his dad that he was uncertain he would spend eternity in Heaven when Jesus came back.  His dad brought him to his bedroom, and there, by his bed, he shared the plan of salvation with him, and Brother Caleb trusted Jesus as his Saviour.  As a young teenager, he knew God had called him to be a preacher.  Upon completion of high school, he attended Oklahoma Baptist College to study and prepare himself for the call God had placed on his life.  It was during his sophomore year that he felt the Lord leading him in the direction of being an assistant pastor after college graduation.  Two years later, the Lord opened the great door of opportunity for him to be an assistant pastor to Pastor Terry Anglea at Faith Baptist Church.  What a wonderful place it has been to serve the Lord!

Jason Moncofsky:

College and Career Bible Class

Young people currently enrolled in college, recent graduates, and post high school singles meet every Sunday from 10AM-10:45AM.  Jason Moncofsky goes through the Bible and brings messages that relate to people in this age group.  The class meets one Saturday per month for a time of fellowship and fun, such as BBQs, Chicago trips, and other age-appropriate activities.

Teen Church

Teen church meets during the main service hour (11AM-12:15PM) and is geared especially to those teens who ride on the buses.  It’s a structured church service which includes singing songs about Jesus, hearing red hot preaching, having a chance to make decisions during the invitation time, and enjoying a time of fun and fellowship.

Afternoon Teen Program

This ministry for teenagers who ride on the buses begins after the morning service and extends through the evening service.  The teenagers are able to get out into the community and invite people to church and spread the Gospel.  They eat lunch, play games in the late afternoon, learn about the Bible during a question and answer time, and attend the evening service.  Participating in the afternoon teen program helps the teens to grow in the Lord.

Teens Need Truth (TNT)

This ministry for all teenagers meets every Sunday from 5:30PM-6:15PM.  The spiritual needs of today’s teenager are addressed through preaching on the topics that they face everyday.  Once a month the teenagers go out for ice cream, and all birthdays for that month are celebrated with a big birthday cake!  It’s a good time of fellowship with a desire to see the teenagers grow spiritually.

Jason Moncofsky was born on May 17, 1975, and grew up in Hackettstown, New Jersey.  He was saved at the age of twenty-one.  The Lord led him to Heritage Baptist Church in Wallingford, Connecticut, in January 1999.  It was here, under the preaching of Pastor Thomas Bish, that he grew in the Lord.  It was also at this church that he accepted the call to go into full-time Christian service.  In January 2003, he enrolled at Providence Baptist College in Elgin, Illinois, under the leadership of Dr. Keith Gomez, pastor of Northwest Bible Baptist Church.  He graduated in December 2005 and is now an Assistant Pastor/Youth Director.  He and his wife Kelly have three children, Hadley, Caleb, and Lyndsey.
